Paraprofessionals
Please complete a classified application, and submit it with one of the following:
- A copy of your transcripts showing two years of completed study equaling 60 hours or more at an accredited institution of higher education, associate's degree, or higher
- ADE approved assessment with a passing score (ParaPro, ACT Workkeys, Master Teacher's ParaEducator Learning Network)
Fingerprinting
District personnel will use your fingerprints to check the criminal history records of the State of Arizona and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). If you have a criminal record, the officials making a determination of your suitability for employment will allow you the opportunity to complete or challenge the accuracy of the information on record. You will receive a reasonable amount of time to correct or complete the record (or decline to do so) before officials deny you employment based on information in the criminal record.
The procedures for obtaining a change, correction, or updating of your FBI criminal history record are set forth in Title 28, code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section 16.30 through 16.34. Visit the FBI website for Information on how to review and challenge your FBI criminal history record under "Services" and then "Identity History Summary Checks," or by calling (304) 625.5590.
To obtain a copy of your Arizona Criminal History in order to review/update/correct the record, contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety Criminal History Records Unit at (602) 223.2222 to obtain a fingerprint card and a Review and Challenge packet. Bus Driver (Classified Application)
Summary
A bus driver must have the ability to operate a school bus, exercising good judgment and extreme caution; to maintain order among students on the assigned vehicle; to learn a designated route, including appropriate stops and traffic hazards; and to follow oral and written instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Possess and maintain a valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger, air brake, and school bus endorsements.
- Possess a certificate of physical competence in compliance with 49 CFR 391-41-391-49 signed by a qualified physician.
- Have satisfactorily completed a course of bus-during training, with a minimum of 14 hours of classroom instruction and 20 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, prior to assignment as a school bus driver: or submit satisfactory evidence of previous experience as a school bus driver in the state of Arizona and complete a minimum of six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with the district prior to assignment.
- Qualify for and maintain an Arizona school bus driver’s certification.
